Potatoes are one of the most versatile ingredients in the kitchen. In this class with Chef Jenny we’ll explore five completely different ways to turn this humble staple into comforting, delicious dishes from Europe and beyond.

We’ll start with a hearty German potato soup made with bacon, carrots, onions, and finished with fragrant chive oil. Next is a creamy potato salad with mayonnaise and pickle juice, with classic add-ins like bacon and eggs.

From there we move to a favorite from Eastern Germany: potato pancakes, served the traditional way with applesauce and cinnamon sugar.

You’ll also learn how to make Pommes Duchesse, elegant piped mashed potatoes that bake up golden and crispy — a classic French side that’s surprisingly easy and always impressive.
