Basics of Breadmaking: Challah Bread with Chef Amy

Join Chef Amy for a warm, hands-on cooking class where tradition meets indulgence! In this workshop, you’ll learn how to make soft, golden challah bread from scratch—braided and baked to perfection. Once your challah loaves are fresh out of the oven, we’ll turn them into the star of the show: a decadent Monte Cristo sandwich, layered with savory meats, melty cheese, and dipped in a delicate egg batter before being griddled to golden crispness.

To complement the rich flavors, we’ll also whip up a batch of homemade strawberry jam—sweet, vibrant, and perfect for that final touch.

Whether you're a seasoned baker or a curious beginner, this class will fill your kitchen with amazing aromas and your plate with unforgettable flavor. Come for the bread, stay for the sandwich—and leave with the skills to recreate it all at home!

Adult Breadmaking Classes are 21 and older only. The group will work together (in groups of 4), sharing equipment and workstations in this hands-on breadmaking class taught by our instructor.  One can expect about 4 hours total to include instruction and some time to enjoy the fruits of your labor with new friends.  Each class will require standing, cooking, and working for most of the class. Please wear long hair tied back and comfortable, closed-toed shoes for safety.  There will be no allergy modifications made for this class type.
